Banbury Cash Converters Round 2

This past thursday-friday my band once again took a journey north-west for a couple gigs in Bicester and Banbury (as we had done previously this year with good results). Along our journey there was enough time for laughs, drinks, football in a field and even a little game chasing.

The Cash Converters in Banbury was once again fruitful, as it had been on our previous visit.

Here’s my haul:

First off is this fully working, rechargable powerpak for the Game Boy Color. No need for a backlit screen when it’s soo bright outside and now this thing is rechargable it’s once again my favourite portable!

Having recently aquired a Game Gear I’ve been searching for descent games, this is a good start. Rather similar concept to the ‘Alien 3’ game released for Mega Drive, save hostages and kill aliens… only this time it’s a top down view. Good game.

I saw this and was hoping it was a 3rd party fighting pad for the Mega Drive but it is infact a controller for the Sega Saturn. It’s in good condition and feels just as sturdy (if not more so) then the official Saturn controller… however I’m yet to find a purpose for the turbo feature, maybe I need some space shooters. Any recommendations?

Lastly from my Cash Converters haul was this modest little RF lead… which I didn’t actually pay for… I’m assuming they thought it was something to do with the controller or they just didn’t have prices for their boxes of misc leads.

This humble little lead completes my boxed Mega Drive MkII

I also snapped up this bargin at a CEX store also in Banbury… it’s not really retro yet but it’s a quality game non the less.

All in all a good haul for about £10.
